I am a US non Native in support of Idle No More

Hi, I live in the US. I am in strong support of Idle No More. I believe that this movement has been a long time coming and I welcome it with open arms and a Soul ready to participate fully.

I want to thank the four strong women Founders...Sheelah McLean, Nina Wilson, Sylvia McAdam Saysewahum, and Jessica Gordon...all truly modern day Okicitaws,(Warrior Women of the original Treaty times). You Have helped to spark a fire that is burning brightly and will not go out any time soon.

I want to thank Chief Theresa Spence, Raymond Robinson, Emil Bell, and Wilson Hartie for their Strength, and their Love for People and Mother Earth.

I want to thank Pam Palmater and Sheila North Wilson for all they are doing. Two strong young women who are working hard every day to support this cause.

I want to thank all the Chiefs of Canada for their contributions towards taking back what is trying to be stolen.

I want to thank ALL People of ALL Nations that are supporting Idle No More. We are all in this together, and I believe that Idle No More is MotherEarth's best hope right now

I want generations ahead to be able to have a healthy Earth to live on. I want the plants, animals, water and air to be healthy. I have wanted this all my life, but what I have seen is a slow degradation of our resources and unhealthy land management practices. My Soul cries for what has been lost already. I have done what I can in my own space to preserve Mother Earth in a Good Way.

As a non Native, I realize that my ancestors were part of the problems. This weighs heavily on my shoulders. I wish so much that I could change the past. But I can't and all I can do is to operate in a Good Way now while I am here.

Right now, I am doing all I can to support this cause and spread the word of these extremely important issues to my fellow non Natives. I have attended Flash Mobs and rallies. I am frustrated with the US media in their silence on reporting anything about Idle No More. i was able to secure one interview with a local radio show, but my attempts with US TV have been underwhelming. I have held a Teach In that no non Natives showed up for, but that has not discouraged me. I will hold another and will make sure that again I do it in a Good Way, inviting local Native People to participate.

I find that this cause is all-consuming for me. My Soul is vibrating and I am driven to put myself "out there" in ways I never have. Case in point....Facebook/Twitter/Rabble. And as much as I am doing, I feel it is not enough.

We CAN NOT LET C-45 AND OTHER ASSOCIATED BILLS BE IMPLEMENTED! They violate UN sanctions, affect Indigenous Sovereignty and Rights, are harmful to Land, Sacred Places, Animals, Water, and People.

To any Idigenous person reading this know that I offer out my help in whatever way i can to stop this imminent destruction from happening. I am non Native in Solidarity with Idle No More!

Idle No More should exist - and grow - as long as C45 is on the books.

Hi L2HT, welcome to babble and thanks for your thoughts. I truly believe that the world is caught up in a spirit of revolution that has not taken place since the end of WWII, and that this spirit will manifest itself in many different ways. In the Middle East, we call it the Arab Spring, in Quebec we call it the Maple Spring, and in your country, we call it Occupy Wall Street. It could very well be in time, we in Canada will call this spirit Idle No More, and it may very well catch on here in a way that Occupy did not.

Solidarity forever!

Great post, L2HT.

I join you in supporting Idle No More as a non-Native Yank.

I just finished watching today's INM Spreecast. Three hours went by in a flash. So much important information. There were amazing speakers. It makes me more fearful, more inspired and more FIRED-UP to support Idle No More and these important issues. Tanya Kappo,(@Nehiyahskwew), for one speaks of my same fears. Janice Makokis,(@bearclannation), talked of her culture's history of verbal communication and not writing things down so they come from the Heart and are heard with the Heart,(I paraphrased that).

I, as a US nonNative continue to support and stand in Solidarity with Idle No More. I want to spred the word of these extremely important issues. My Soul has spoken and I am listening.

Here is the latest news story on oilsand tailing ponds leaking into groundwater..This story came out the same day as the pipeline protest and has been removed from MSM outlets , as fast as it appeared. So read it now before it to disappears.

I would think this is a game changer...as the US monitors Canadian fresh water flow more than Canada does..especially since satellite technology was developed that has the ability to read moisture levels in the spoil etc. I know this for a fact.

Presently the US won't allow there pipeline to go thru the largest fresh water aquifers they have ..at the same time they are gambling with fracking and it's relationship to ground water contamination..They do look to canada as there future source and allowing Canada to make this matter even worse, by increasing tar sand production is not in their best interest or ours for that matter.

Conservatives have to be removed now ...they aren't even a legal govt..they have NO right to implement ANY legislation..I wish the political parties would get together and denounce them ..give Canadians a card blanche in dealing with them ...and a brand new fair election.
