Very nice, Fidel, sitting here in the imperial heartland, and identifying every single example of resistance to imperialism as being a CIA plot. Makes it a lot easier to justify invasion, no-fly zones, occupation, plunder. I know that's not your intent, but it certainly is the consequence of your crackpot conspiracy nonsense.

What youre saying does not follow. It makes no sense, and I can only hope that you understood that before posting out of frustration. You will, no doubt, try to tell me that I denigrate legitimate resistance movements around the world by suggesting that they are all so totally owned by the CIA as to make them illegimate. But that is not what I have actually said at any time.  I resent that false implication and non sequitur. Please don't tell me what you think I have said about the U.S.-led NATO and their right wing stay behind armies morphing into mercenaries, jobbers and hirelings for the vicious empire because apparently you have it backwards, wrongways and g-ways.

Yes we realize that there are no imperialists in your version of the world.

NATO has been a benevolent force for good in the land of make believe. And Gladio? Puh! Imperialists just aren't that evil in your world of denial.

You seem to be in denial about the fact that anyone can be bought whether they are white or non-white. Yes, even brown people can be corrupted and paid to do the imperialists dirty work. To think or imply that non-whites are incapable of being corrupted or enticed into becoming mercenaries for hire for anyone's ideological purposes is not just insanely racist, it's not how the real world works. I'm afraid your freedom fighters, the mujahideen and many of whom arenow in Karzai's government, enjoyed shopping in NYC for Gucci and other brands which most of us working class slobs could never afford.

I'm afraid the reality of it is not as simple as what you've led yourself to believe. The issues are not black and white as only a conservative minded person is able to see the world. See Berkeley study on what makes a political conservative.

The CIA was formed in 1947 along with the NSA and Joint Chiefs. That's real history.

And for God's sake don't post anything dumb until I get back.

Thx Fidel I never quite understood before that Unionist was an arch conservative who supported the mujahedin and Karzai.  Just proves people have to pay close attention to really follow the nuances on this board.

Tell me are there any left wing people besides you on this board or is Unionist just the tip of the iceberg and this board is actually a gathering place for right wingers?

I think you and Unionist do a fine job of nuancing. Don't be so hard on yourselves.

Berkeley researchers suggest that 'conservative' can refer to either right or left. They are generally afraid of change, have issues with terror managment and ambiguity. They see the world in terms of black and white as in there are no grey areas of uncertainty. They believe what they believe.

Nothing is complicated. Your closets are tidy and all that. Now I'm not suggesting that 'conservatives' are borderline sociopaths or anything. It's just that their world is unsullied by the full range of human behaviours and, shall we say, nuances and world views held by the rest of us. Clear as an unmuddied lake, Fred? Clear as an azure sky in the deepest of summer?(Alex of A Clockwork Orange infamy)

Ahhem, now you don't actually have to read the article.

Well Fidel your description is mostly the antithesis of who I am so and I suspect it would be the same for Unionist and most posters on this board so PLEASE just STFU about other people and talk issues instead of drivel about people you don't know.

I understand your pointy view of the world. Imperialism is a great evil that permeates everything everywhere and the NDP is the only known cure.  I can hardly wait for the New Jerusalem.

What position should the NDP take on this file.  Is the best thing to just mirror the Harper agenda?  At least that would show they have no ambiguity on issues of terror management.

Fidel

Excuse me but I amn the one who was fed up with having the conversation turned toward me personally.

For the record, I am not the one defending the very imperialist organization, the CIA,  against "conspiracy theories." This is the same imperialist agency which forged ties with General Reinhard Gehlen and basically reconstructed Himmler's SS after the war to spy on our WW II allies, the Russians. That's right, I am one of several posters here who are in a way kind of miffed, to say the least, over that bit of shady cold war history and every other godamned dirty trick they've pulled around the world since then.

YOU TWO are the ones implying that the American CIA are not that evil. You two not I or me or even NDPP. So what do you have to say for yourselves besides chiding us for spreading gossip and vicious rumors concerning "the company" and NSA which, by the way, their purpose is to allegedly to spy on foreign militaries, which is a total lie since what they've actually been doing is spying on the lives of millions of Americans and especially so since their hirelings in the invisible army of dark matters orchestrated 9/11 all by their bad selves. Go on, we're listeninig. It's your dime, Mr Social Credit Democracy. How's that for ambiguity? And if you're uncertain, take all the time you need to hash it out between the two of you.

kropotkin1951

LOL

Kiss

Does that sufficiently answer your non question?

Here is a graphic view of the CIA that you should study closely to make sure it fits with your intimate and personal knowledge of the agency. It seems to be fairly accurate but since you are the expert with inside knowledge maybe you can tell me how close it is.

And so if you and Unionist are correct in your dialectical hypothesis that says imperialists are not that evil, why are you in a rush to condemn the NDP for notstanding up to imperialists and their vicious toadies in Ottawa if 'conspiracy theories'(code for the unspeakable truth about imperialism) are non truths in stark contrast to what lapdog newz media says about 9/11 and every imperialist military attack and invasion since 9/11/01?

Terror in Central Asia: NATO’s Great Game

Quote:

In this age of manufactured terror, one of the most vital regions on the global chessboard is also an area that few in the West know anything about: Central Asia. This geostrategic and resource-rich area on the doorstep of China and Russia finds itself in the middle of an all out terror campaign. But, as key national intelligence whistleblowers are pointing out, these terrorists are working hand-in-glove with NATO. This is the GRTV Backgrounder on Global Research TV.

Ever since the staged false flag attacks of 9/11, the US government and its complicit corporate media have focused their attention on fighting the shadowy, all-pervasive, all-powerful, ill-defined and undefeatable “Al Qaeda” enemy that is supposedly menacing the US and its allies at home and abroad. The term “Al Qaeda” of course is merely a cipher for “excuse to invade.”

As far as our in-house apologists for imperialism are concerned, there is no grand chess game. For them 9/11 truth is slander and lies to make imperialists look bad.

Most Canadians are certainly proud - though it is not known how 'fiercely' - of the prevailing political fairy tail that Canada refused to take any part in the US-led war against Iraq. It is, however, not certain where the general public would direct their 'fierceness' if they knew that the current chief of Canada's army had not only commanded troops in the Iraq War but had actually received a US medal for his role in helping lead that war."

Quote:

Libya’s WMD’s are in Terrorist Hands

Libya’s arsenal had fallen into the hands of sectarian extremists with NATO assistance in 2011 during the culmination of efforts to overthrow the North African nation . Since then, Libya’s militants led by commanders of Al Qaeda’s Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) have armed sectarian extremists across the Arab World, from as far West as Mali, to as far East as Syria.

In addition to small arms, heavier weapons are also making their way through this extensive network. The Washington Post in their article, “Libyan missiles on the loose,” reported:

“Two former CIA counterterrorism officers told me last week that technicians recently refurbished 800 of these man-portable air-defense systems (known as MANPADS) — some for an African jihadist group called Boko Haram that is often seen as an ally of al-Qaeda — for possible use against commercial jets flying into Niger, Chad and perhaps Nigeria.”

While undoubtedly these weapons are also headed to Niger, Chad, and perhaps Nigeria, they are veritably headed to Syria. Libyan LIFG terrorists are confirmed to be flooding into Syria from Libya. In November 2011, the Telegraph in their article, “Leading Libyan Islamist met Free Syrian Army opposition group,” would report:

Abdulhakim Belhadj, head of the Tripoli Military Council and the former leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, “met with Free Syrian Army leaders in Istanbul and on the border with Turkey,” said a military official working with Mr Belhadj. “Mustafa Abdul Jalil (the interim Libyan president) sent him there.”
