Good news from Nunavut!

I don't agree with excessive language regulation for the most part; however, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, as they say. So if English and French Canadians are granted special rights, then absolutely indigenous language communities ought to have at least equal language rights to ours.

I hope this serves as a sufficient counterbalance to the English and French language provisions of the Canadian  Constitution.

Some might argue that four official languages could be too expensive for a territory with such a small population. But if we consider that Inuktitut has no special privilged position federally, unlike English and French, an cost-effective counterbalance could be for Nunavut to eventually phase out English and French as official languages altogether, leaving only Inuktitut and Innuviulaqtun so as to keep translation and interpretation costs down. Plus it would kill another bird with the same stone by reducing the infringement of French and English where they don't belong.
