It seems to me that a “Jewish State” means a state where the majority is Jewish. Many states have Christian or Muslim majorities and also Buddhist or Hindu. But there were no states where the majority was Jewish. In the Russian Empire of Alexander III only Orthodox Christians were legitimate Russians. Early Zionists like C. Weitzman, Ben-Gurion(Gryn), Golda Meir(Mabovitch) and Netanyahu’s father (Jabotinsi) were born there.
