No. He came third to Dix. Both he and Farnworth should sit this one out. Renewal is needed, no more retreads.

The bc ndp has been wearing blinkers for a long time now
Ideally we find someone from outside but who is the question
Most people probably think the leadership is not worth persuing
And who can fault them for that.
The party iis going broke so fast it will make you heads spin.
Right now and anything i have witnessed since the electiom makes it apparent that the bc ndp will come in 3rd in the next election assuming there will only be 3 parties contesting in 2017

To whom? The Greens haven't got the organization or the culture to win more than a few seats on the Island in a best case scenario next election, and their culture prevents them from developing the organization.

That's a ridiculous attitude - just because someone ran and lost two years ago shouldn't disqualify them from running next time and winning. In 1969 Tom Berger narrowly beat Dave Barrett in a hotly contested leadership contest. Berger went on the lose the 1969 election. Barrett was then crowned as new leader and he went on the win in a landslide in 1972.
I can think of a few other electorally successful politicians who won their parties leadership on a second try - Jean Chretien, Brian Mulroney...also John Diefenbaker ran and lost in TWO attempts to win the federal PC leadershiup before finally winning it and then sweeping the country!

pretty dramatic but i agree major changes are needed like David Eby becoming leader. John nice as he is isn't it.
i remember my first time voting and voting for the BCNDP when they had 2 mla's.

Fortunately the President and other members of the old guard are not going to be running the party soon. It will be interesting to see who gets elected to run the party next. Anyone from the 1990's BCNDP need not apply for the job of Leader since it will only lead to sorrow. If Horgan or Heyman or Farnsworth become leader the party is bound to lose.

Tired tropes is right. I don't think Horgan will change a thing. The NDP won't take a stance, won't offer us any new direction, won't provide any exciting alternative to vote for. Could be some good opportunities for the Greens in the next few years, but they'd need to show they can offer more than just an environmental platform.

They need to do the opposite, they need to show more willingness to embrace development and jobs. Otherwise they will not win. "Green" voters in BC only effect 3-4 seats concentrated in Vancouver and S Island, while moving away from them will open up to 10 seats elsewhere in the province. Sounds like some pretty easy math to me.
