What Reality TV Show Do You Watch Every Week

A reality tv show you cannot miss, do you have a favorite?

Looking for something new to watch, and any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

A reality show I cannot miss—no such animal. However I do enjoy Top Gear (the British original, not the Yankee knock-off), a show about the X-factor of motoring. I don't own a car but I do drive, a little; the presenters are quite hilarious. Supercars and excess, wonderful. If you're offended easily you might not care for it.

If you like competitive reality TV shows my partner tells me The Amazing Race is the best, bar none. The show wins Emmies every year.

If you feel the need to be reminded of just how stupid people can be Big Brother Canada is auditioning for cast members now for season two.

I only like the reality tv show where I step outside my front door and watch the world unfold. It is hard to change the channel, though, so I'll grant you that. And it can be hard to follow at times.

It's been years since I owned a television, but I have caught a reality show or two here and there. Amazing Race is pretty entertaining, but after a few episodes it starts feeling like all the others: get a bunch of ordinary people to do a bunch of ludicrous tasks and laugh at the results. The only reality show I was ever really intrigued by was Project Runway, because the contestants are actually doing something that takes skill and creativity.

I used to enjoy Project Runway too, when I worked in fashion, but the show is past its best before date; the judging is terrible which makes it predictable and the contestants are not as hungry, therefore not as interesting, as they were in earlier seasons. Still, PR is better than most of the genre. I'm sure it still has its moments.

None. I don't have a TV. I inherited a small one; gave it away. Waste too much time on the computer (which I do need as I work on it).

I only ever saw a smattering of episodes from the first two seasons. In my experience all shows lose their magic after a few seasons. American TV just can't leave a good idea alone. They have to keep beating it to death until it isn't interesting anymore. For instance, I looooved the first season of Dexter. If they had the restraint to let it lie and only make a second season when they worked out a story that was just as engaging, it could have been awesome. Or if they couldn't do that, then let it stand as a complete story. But no. They just had to keep churning out a season every year and get weaker and weaker and drain all the life out of the premise.

You are so right. The Brits are much better at ending a series on a high note, mainstream US TV producers just don't understand the concept; I have friends who are younger than the Law and Order franchise. Specialty cable seems to get it though; Breaking Bad, for example, ended well (with emphasis on 'ended') and in a timely fashion.
