Willowdale: Alexander Brown, nominated Feb. 4, ran in 2011.
Etobicoke--Lakeshore: P. C. Choo, born in Malaysia, former banker, Financial Aid administrator with the University of Toronto, member of the University of Toronto Governing Council, Public School Trustee from 1994-1997, 2011 candidate in Markham, by-election candidate in Etobicoke--Lakeshore in 2013, nominated Feb. 26, 2014.
Mississauga--Erindale: Michelle Bilek, nominated last October, Mississauga-Erindale Federal NDP candidate in 2011.

Paul Ferreira has indeed confirmed that he will be seeking the NDP nomination in York-South Weston. I really hope he wins and takes back the seat for the NDP

The 35-year-old self-employed graphic designer was chosen at the best-attended nomination meeting the NDP has had since the 1980s, said former NDP MPP Paul Wessenger, who chaired last night's meeting as Bradbury — the provincial riding president — could not. “I was just amazed. There’s a lot of enthusiasm,” he said, adding he expected 50 people to show up, but more than 100 attended.
The openly gay man, who won a contested nomination, says he is Barrie's first openly gay candidate. "I believe in strong families of all kinds. This year, my husband and I will celebrate our 14th anniversary together." He helped start and is co-chairman of Barrie Pride, ran “Raise the Wage” in Barrie, and helps collect for the Barrie Food Bank.

Huron-Bruce: Jan Johnstone, won contested nomination on Thursday. Social Worker (MSW), a school trustee since 2001, and former chair (2011-13), of the Bluewater District School Board, Vice-Chair Western Region of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA), Kincardine Scottish Festival Vendor Coordinator. Her husband Gordon is a long time employee of Bruce Power, former Chief Steward for the Power Workers, and former Grey Bruce Labour Council President. (Her daughter Alex is a Hamilton School Trustee seeking the nomination in Ancaster--Dundas--Flamborough--Westdale scheduled for May 14.)
Elgin-Middlesex-London: Kathy Cornish of St. Thomas, nominated today, Business Agent at SEIU, President of Steelworkers' Local 4906 from May 2006 to 2012, ran in 2011.
Cambridge: Bobbi Stewart, a children and family services worker with Guelph CAS, and president of the Cambridge NDP riding association, nominated today. Ran in 2011 federal election in Guelph.
Chatham-Kent-Essex: Dan Gelinas, won contested nomination last night.
Thornhill: Cindy Hackelberg, nominated in January for the by-election, who also ran in 2011; high-tech software project manager, previously served as a television journalist covering York Region for a local Rogers TV station, Regional Rep from Central East on ONDP Executive.
Oak Ridges--Markham: Miles Krauter of Markham, Co-Chair of University of Ottawa NDP.

Thanks, I shall follow with interest. Sadly, it appears Ted McMeekin will be running again for the Fiberals. The word on the street before the last election was that this would be his last term as he and his wife (a family physician in Carlisle) had bought a retirement home in Arizona or some such place. However he is apparently back for another kick at the can, and unfortunately for the NDP, he draws a lot of support from disillusioned PC voters who are the vast majority here. He took rock-solid PC polls in the last election. His local name recognition etc. will be hard to beat. However the Cons are divided amongst themselves about internal issues around the last campaign (I forget what those were); how much that still factors in is anyone's guess.

Kitchener--Conestoga: James Villeneuve, president of the Sheet Metal Workers' Local 562, won contested nomination last night, defeating 2011 candidate.
Scarborough Centre: Carol Baker, Legal assistant with union-side labour law firm, currently seconded to the Ontario Federation of Labour as a coordinator for their Workers' Rights Campaign, Ontario Common Front, and Peoples Social Forum. The Ontario Common Front is a labour-community coalition of over 90 organizations, including the OFL.
York Centre: John Fagan, ran in 2011.
Don Valley West: Khalid Ahmed, nominated May 10, ran in 2011.
Don Valley East: Akil Sadikali, Green Party candidate in 2011.
Mississauga--Brampton South: Kevin Troake, nominated May 9, middle school behavioural teacher in Brampton, and Special Needs Camp Director at Camp Concord in Bancroft area.
Vaughan: Marco Coletta, defeated for Richmond Hill nomination.

Scarborough Southwest: Jessie Macaulay, has worked for three years in an elder law pratice, previously executive assistant at JusticeNet, won contested nomination Saturday afternoon.

Etobicoke Centre: Chris Jones.
Brampton West: Gugni Gill Panaich. She is a former Miss Punjab, film actress and fashion model having worked in both India and Canada. She gave up her film career to marry a York Region police officer and have two children. She has done numerous stage shows and fashion shows for charity, and served as an ambassador for a number of charities. She had filed to run for Peel Regional council from Brampton wards 9 & 10, but withdrew after being nominated for the NDP.
Parry Sound--Muskoka: Clyde Mobbley, nominated Saturday.

Eight ridings to go: Ancaster—Dundas—Flamborough—Westdale tonight, and seven I can't track: Niagara West—Glanbrook, Wellington—Halton Hills, Mississauga South, St. Paul's, Scarborough—Agincourt, Newmarket—Aurora, and Durham.

In Ancaster-Dundas-Flamborough-Westdale, Alex Johnstone wins the nomination. A Hamilton public school trustee, she joins her mother Jan Johnstone, Huron-Bruce candidate, and also a public school trustee, in the second mother-daughter candidate team. Kitchener-Waterloo MPP Catherine Fyfe and her mother, Peterborough candidate Sheila Wood, are the other mother-daughter team.
