Is the Russia and its "allies" planning to attack USA and start World War III?

Many think that the Russia is planning to attack USA DIRECTLY in the future.

Anyone not brainwashed (like the zombified American elements in Ukraine) knows that, at the very least, a second Cold War, based on fabrications and speculation about Crimean independence, American troops "invading" Ukraine to support the resistance in Novorossiya, and the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner over the war zone has already begun. Huge Russian pressure on its obsequious allies has caused these countries enormous and expensive sanctions, costing them billions, against USA. Meanwhile, Russia has "pivoted" eastward, towards China, the BRICS countries, and away from the aggressive Yanqui Empire.

Is this scare-mongering or a real danger? Is this an idea that should be ridiculed, as some babblers have already done, or examined seriously as a significant global danger

Unless you think thermonuclear war is a laughing matter, which some babblers obviously do, then the subject looks to be worthy of serious investigation.

While Obama Snoozes, Russia Is Preparing For Nuclear War With The United States Did you know that two Russian bombers practiced launching cruise missiles at the United States from a spot in the North Atlantic just the other day?

Veteran national-security reporter Bill Gertz, in major news at The Washington Free Beacon, headlines today that "Russian Strategic Bombers Conduct More Than 16 Incursions of U.S. Air Defense Zones," and reports that "Russian strategic nuclear forces appear to be 'trying to test our air defense reactions, or our command and control systems,' said an official familiar with reports of the incursions.

According to a Russian navy blog, Russia simulated a nuclear attack involving submarines, bombers and land-based missiles and this massive drill was coordinated under the direct supervision of Putin at the Defense Ministry's headquarters in Moscow. The nuclear drill simulated a massive retaliatory nuclear strike in response to an enemy attack. This was a live fire drill and involved a Sineva ballistic missile that hit a target on the Kula testing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Subsequent warnings were issued to civilian aircraft to stay clear of the massive war games area.

In response to the Obama Administration's Ukrainian coup that replaced the democratically elected pro-Russian President of Russia's neighboring country by a regime that is seeking to join NATO and become a base for U.S. nuclear missiles, Russia is girding for America's expected attack.

BurkoNews, an organization of journalists based in Crimea, headlined on 22 June 2014, "Why Is Russia Preparing for the Nuclear War?" and reported:

"From the middle of May to early June 2014, the Russian Federation [i.e., 'Russia'] undertook two large command-staff exercises testing the realization of a local nuclear attack. According to military experts there were never such dense and extensive testing scenarios of nuclear war even in the Soviet Union. ... The 12th General Directory of the Ministry of Defense, which is the most secret department, was involved in the exercises."

First and foremost, Russian defense will focus on the development of strategic nuclear weapons, construction of over 100 military vessels for Russian Navy, including construction of four originally French-made Mistral-class amphibious assault ships, and the introduction into the Air Force of over 1,000 helicopters and 600 military planes, including fifth generation PAK-FA fighter.

KAZAN, October 15 (RIA Novosti) – Starting from 2017, the Russian Air Force will base MiG-31 interceptor jets and tactical aircraft at a Russian Arctic airfield in the urban settlement of Tiksi in northernmost Sakha Republic, Commander Col. Gen. Viktor Bondarev said Wednesday.

"Reconstruction of the Tiksi airfield will certainly begin next year. A formation of tactical aircraft and MiG-31 interceptors will be based at the airfield in 2017. MiG-31 will be also based at an airfield in Anadyr [the capital of Chukotka Autonomous Area]," Bondarev said during an inspection visit to Air Force facilities under construction.

In July, the Russia Air Force announced that Russian long-range aviation bases are increasing their presence in the Arctic.

Russia has been seeking to strengthen its military, political and economic position in the Arctic for some time. In April, Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized the establishment of a new state body for the realization of Russian policies in the region. The president also commissioned the government to prepare plans for the full financial support of the Arctic's development program.

MOSCOW, October 7 (RIA Novosti) - The entire Russian Air Force is taking part in the All-Russian Civil Defense Drill, Emergencies Ministry spokesman Alexander Drobyshevsky said Tuesday.

"The air forces from Sakhalin to Kaliningrad are practicing emergency response," Drobyshevsky said, specifying that the drill includes aerial engineer, nuclear, chemical and biological reconnaissance.

The drill also focuses on responding to fire-related emergencies, aerial medical evacuation, as well as oil spill cleanup and earthquake relief operations.

The drill started on October 4 and will last till October 8, involving more than 300,000 personnel and 10,000 pieces of equipment, the Emergencies Ministry said.

All Russian regions are participating in the drill, including Crimea and Sevastopol. Each region has its own scenario of simulated emergencies, ranging from aircraft crashes and floods to earthquakes and chemical disasters.

The All-Russian Civil Defense Drill involves federal executive bodies, executive bodies of Russia's federal subjects and local governments. The drill is coordinated and controlled by the National Crisis Management Center.

What military allies are you referring to in the title? Russia doesn't belong to any military alliances like NATO or the former Warsaw Pact. Please advise.

Webgear, I don't always agree with everything you post, but this thread is fucking brilliant. Thank you.

ikosmos ikosmos's picture

Well, he's got no chance for legitimizing the US plans for World War 3 on the other thread, so why not?

By the way, those state-to-state agreements that were listed in the previous post is just a typical distraction. The key members of NATO - besides the useful idiots like Ukraine or Georgia which will never be NATO members - is a proper, full blown Military Alliance in which the official doctrine and policy is that an attack on one shall be interpreted as an attack on all. Literally. No such arrangement exist between Russia and any other country, and probably never will. They simply have learned from the Warsaw Treaty what sort of problems these military alliances create, and want no part of it. This is in marked contrast to the hegemon, the lidless eye, the world policeman, the Empire, in which the avowed aim of perpetual global dominance is clearly expressed in the highest level of military planning and in their general military doctrine.

So, yeah, fabrications are fun. These are typical misrepresentation tactics, in which a longer explanation is required to refute a quick and sleazy falsehood.

Like shooting fish in a barrel. With apologies to the fish.

Bacchus wrote:

Quite simply (there is more to it) - Neither of these states have clearly defined borders anymore. For Ukraine - Crimea has separated, forever, and the Donbass is in the process of separating. States with poorly defined boundaries cannot join the club of first class NATO membership. Georgia lost both Abkhazia and South Ossentia when the war criminal Saakashvili tried to ethnically cleanse Tskinvali and failed, getting his ass whooped by the Russians who then, very sensibly, left and let the other Georgians, in their own good time, boot out the war criminal. Which they did.

Mind you, you could have a 2-tiered membership in NATO. But such an alliance isn't really an alliance of equals. It's more like an Empire and its vassals. Which, I suppose, it is.

True or not, the more substantive issue is whether "some people" take matters of war and peace seriously, or trivialize/ridicule the legitimate concerns of others, or even treat seriously the very idea of preventing war as one of the most important duties of a human being on planet Earth.

This is only a serious subject if you want it to be.

WW3 is not around the corner in my opinion; nobody is going to invade anybody. It's funny how the Russian media is pushing this and people (like you) are trying to make mountians out of mole hills to support that. I suspect it's more to have an excuse to have yet another message thread here to bash the USA and NATO than anything else.

So yeah, some here, most prehaps, are going to not take niether of these threads very seriously (much to your apparent chagrin).

Putin made what was probably the most important speech of his political career at the Valdai discussion group recently. Some compare it to Churchill's Fullbright speech ("Iron Curtain" idea, borrowed from Nazi Joseph Goebbels, and so on) but most definitely very up front and honest about Putin's views of the world situation.

In this speech he basically says that Russia views war as virtually inevitable. Gonna wait for the movie, are you?

Well, that is actually an improvement from treating Putin as the next Hitler. Why, I think you might even acknowledge that his country has the right to exist if I'm not careful ...

Putin is more popular than any Western politician you care to name. It's ridiculous how popular he is. I'm sure it has absolutely NOTHING to do with how he has been handling the Ukrainian civil war and crisis, nothing to do with the carefully thought out counter sanctions that have been like a brutal shot to the liver of European agricultural exports, nothing to do with his administration standing up to the Empire, rather than wallowing on their belly like the late, vodka-soaked and oafish Boris Yeltsin, nothing to do with the astonishiing economic performance despite the illegal sanctions against his country,  and so on.

Nope, it's probably all done with mirrors. Those pesky Roooooooooooooskies!

MOSCOW, November 7. /TASS/. The Russian currency continues depreciating on the domestic foreign exchange market amid falling world oil prices and increased geopolitical tensions.

The euro rose to a new record high of over 60 rubles in early Moscow trading on Friday while the US dollar climbed above 48.6.

Financiers say the Russian foreign currency market is close to panicking, which is largely caused by the population’s heightened demand for foreign exchange rather than by geopolitical factors.

The US dollar exceeded 47 rubles on Friday’s opening on the Moscow Exchange, subsequently climbing by 1.27 rubles to 48 and further to 48.6 by 11:30am Moscow time (08:30 GMT). Meanwhile, the euro jumped by 1.42 rubles to 59.47, eventually climbing to over 60 rubles by 11:30am Moscow time.

V.V. Putin (from Valdai speech) wrote:
“Russia does not need any kind of special, exclusive place in the world... While respecting the interests of others, we simply want for our own interests to be taken into account... We don’t need to be a superpower; this would only be an extra load for us... We have had more than enough of those revolutions in the 20th century. What we need is evolution... It is impossible to keep humiliating one’s partners forever in such a way... We have no desire to return to our totalitarian past. This is not because we fear anything, but because this path leads to a dead end...”.

Of course, it will be said that Russia under Putin's leadership has "secret" plans for global conquest, surrepticious actions to sap the vital bodily fluids of Western "masulinity", and so on, but these fairy tales are meant for children's bed time stories, not critical adults who can think for themselves?

Those who are used to lying, just as those used to excusing those lies, think that everyone else is also lying. The truth is confusing, or, as was once written, in the time of lies is a revolutionary act.

Apparently Russian media is trying to convince the Russian people they can now win a nuclear war. How dangerous and foolish is that?

Quote:
Russia is in possession of strategic nuclear weapons far more advance than the United States, and it will continue to lead the game with its new generation of missiles, according to a comprehensive report from the Russian political newspaper, PRAVDA. Indeed, if World War 3 erupts, Russian Vladimir Putin will win hands down, the report suggested.

The report titled Russia Prepares Nuclear Surprise For NATO, claims that Russia was able to amass its massive nuclear power because the U.S. had been dismissive and neglectful of achieving innovations in decades after winning the Cold War. Specifically, the U.S. had closed the possibility of developing high-precision long-range weapons that could eradicate enemies even without coming to direct contact. But Russia never stops innovating despite much criticism and the more accepted notion that the country is weak and the west is superior. At this point, Russia has "long-range cruise missiles of a new generation that will soon be deployed on submarines of the Black Sea Fleet and missile ships of the Caspian Flotilla," PRAVDA stated.

And not only that - Russia's tactical nuclear weapons are far more superior to that of NATO's, the report said. NATO's member countries have only 260 tactical weapons. The U.S. has 200 bombs with an overall capacity of 18 megatons - located in Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey. France has 60 atomic bombs, as outlined by the report. "Russia, according to conservative estimates, has 5,000 pieces of different classes" of tactical nuclear weapons "from Iskander warheads to torpedo, aerial and artillery warheads," the report from PRAVDA highlighted.

In Soviet times, Russian military professionals worked across the globe from Cuba to Vietnam, teaching, advising and sometimes just pointing Kalashnikov muzzles at the enemy for the sake of the proletariat.

Now Russian authorities want them to do so again, but this time, for profit — and, just possibly, as a governmental proxy.

A bill filed with the State Duma late last month would legalize private military and security companies (PMSCs) in Russia, an idea endorsed in 2012 by President Vladimir Putin.

10 Signs That Russia Is Preparing To Fight (And Win) A Nuclear War With The United States

http://www.infowars.com/10-signs-that-russia-is-preparing-to-fight-and-w...

If the United States and Russia fought a nuclear war, who would win? You might be surprised by the answer. Under the Obama administration, the rapidly aging U.S. strategic nuclear arsenal has been shrinking. Meanwhile, the Russians have been developing an entirely new generation of bombers, submarines and missiles that have the capability of delivering an absolutely crippling first strike. At this point, most Americans consider a full-scale nuclear war to be inconceivable. But in Russia attitudes are completely different. To the Russians, the United States is enemy number one these days and the Russians are feverishly preparing for a potential military showdown. Of course the Russians don't actually want to have to resort to nuclear war. Such an event would be an unspeakable horror for the entire globe. But if one does happen, the Russians want to make sure that they are the ones that come out on top.

Russian strategic bombers to patrol off US coastlines

http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2014/11/14/russ-n14.html

As fighting flares again between the NATO-backed regime in Kiev and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, Russia announced Wednesday that it is re-starting regular patrols in international air space off the US coastline by nuclear-capable strategic bombers. This is the first time since the end of the Cold War that Russia is planning routine patrols off the coast of the United States.

This is a sharp warning that the confrontation the United States and the NATO powers are waging with Russia and China—enormously escalated by the right-wing US-backed coup in Ukraine—poses the risk of world war and a nuclear conflagration.

At a meeting of Russia's national military council announcing the decision, Defense Secretary Sergei Shoigu said: "In the current situation, we have to maintain military presence in the western Atlantic and eastern Pacific, as well as the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. Due to that, as part of the drills, Russian long-range bombers will conduct flights along Russian borders and over the Arctic Ocean."

This must be an accurate report if the World Socialist Web Site is reporting this.

Swedish military had said the Russian jet was flying with its transponder (a communications device which makes it easier for an airplane to be located) switched off, making it difficult for commercial traffic control to see it."The military aircraft had no transponder but we discovered it on our radar and warned the civilian air traffic control in Malmo," Daniel Josefsson of the Swedish battle command centre, told daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter on Saturday.

"This is serious. This is inappropriate. It's outright dangerous when you turn off the transponder," Swedish Defence Minister Peter Hultqvist told Swedish radio on Saturday.  Earlier this month NATO complained Russian military aircraft are posing a threat to civilian planes by turning off communications devices and failing to file flight plans. NATO warplanes have had to scramble 400 times this year in response to an increase in Russian air activity around Europe....

Does this mean that as long as I call for the death of government approved targets, I can do so on babble? What about those that aren't approved by the regime in Ottawa or the babble moderators?
