Except for the criminal behaviour. Luckily the Liberals are always there to steal your money or break the laws they swore to uphold. I guess that makes up for it.

As are the Liberals & the NDP.  And as are the Conservatives & NDP.  And as are the NDP & the BQ.  As are the NDP & the Greens.  As are the Greens & the Conservatives.

All these parties have many policies and political outlooks in common with one another, but there are only two that can work together and co-operate in some sort of coalition or governmental form in Canada.

None of that changes the fact that, in reality, the Liberals & the NDP have more in common than either do with the Conservatives and that they are much more likely to be forced to work together or merge down the road if the Conservatives continue to stay in power after 2015.

Completely wrong on this point, as has been shown in policy not rhetoric humpteen times each thread on this board, so stop pretending like the libs are closer to the NDP than the libs are to the cons. On strickly economic policy the libs are actually to the right of the conservatives.

They will just tell you its not an NDP board..so I guess fascist trolls are OK. I miss Heywood, at least he would just tell us his ideas as a conservative or Stephan whathisface professor. Not this liberal non sense when all facts point out how rediculous their claims are. And remember it only gets worse form here on in 2015. Some of us have been here for 4 or more elections and this is only the tip of the iceburg.

Soon you'll be saying that the Liberals are to the right of the Republican Party on economic policy.

Do you really believe this or is this just an NDP talking point?  For a party that is so right-wing, the Liberals sure get attacked a lot by the Conservatives as being too left-wing.

Getting back to the topic of NDP Nominations, Alice Funke posted tonight that another Quebec NDP MP is being challenged (Laurentides-Labelle):

You make it sound like a bad thing? When have contested nominations ever been bad? Infact I'll argue they are good for a party
a) It shows the depth that the party has grown in the riding that more people want to run, shows faith that the party is electable and viable. Yes, sometimes its a move to unseat the incumbent (Rob Anders) but I don't think so in this case.

b) Generally contested noms spur membership drives and media attention so again nothing bad there.

Marc-Andre Morin might not be front bench, but hes definetly a good MP on paper for the NDP, Environmentalist and Journalist, worked in resources sector. Simon-Pierre Landy also would be a good candidate, a Young Doctor. Interestingly enough both have worked in the Yukon...

I didn't say it was a bad thing.  I reported that "another" Quebec NDP MP was being challanged because that's how Alice Funke & others have discussed it because there has been more than one (eg. NDP MP Tyrone Benskin is also in a contest for his nomination).

Contested nominations can have both positive & negative results for all parties - it depends upon the candidates & riding in question.

Dr. Landry does indeed look like a solid candidate, which is why I posted a link to his video so people could see it.  It shows him working at his hospital and the scenes of him jogging reminded me a bit of the effective Kathleen Wynne video last year. Wink

David Young

If scenes of jogging make an effective video, then if prosptective NDP candidate in South Shore-St. Margaret's Alex Godbold shows videos of him taking part in marathon races, that should show the voters that he can 'go the distance', eh?
