Finally, it has been a long 19 years here in Winnipeg:

Quote:
The Winnipeg Jets clinched their first playoff spot in eight seasons Thursday night despite a 1-0 shootout loss to the Avalanche.

Ryan O'Reilly and Matt Duchene scored in the shootout, and Reto Berra stopped both Winnipeg shots. Berra finished with a season-high 41 saves, then stymied Blake Wheeler and Andrew Ladd in the shootout.

The Jets received help from Calgary to squeeze into the playoffs as a wild card when the Flames beat Los Angeles. The last time the franchise made the postseason was in 2006-07, when the team was the Atlanta Thrashers. The Jets are making their first playoff appearance since relocating to Winnipeg for the 2011-12 season.

NorthReport

Congratulations to those dirty dogs who beat our beloved Canucks. Laughing

Seeing the Flames win in Anaheim: Priceless?

NorthReport

Finally Montreal scores a goal now behind 4-2!

NorthReport

Go Flames!

NorthReport

Montreal is no match for Tampa and the Flames are no match for the Ducks. Too bad but it appears that's it for Canadian teams after this round of playoffs.

Go Flames, but what a stupid time to schedule a hockey game in Calgary!  Frown

NorthReport

Caissa

I think I will be cheering for Washington in the next round.

Caissa

Bishop Bolts. Game 5 Saturday.

lagatta

I'm still none too hopeful, though the reprieve was welcome.

Yup. And I'm sure Jim Prentice would agree that it was a stupid time to schedule an election!

Caissa

2 wins to go.

NorthReport

Down 4-2 with 2 minutes left in the game. Thought they were done.

I just believe it. This is like Canadian football.

Truly amazin'  Laughing

Go Toews!

Go Hawks!

NorthReport

Noooooooooooooooooooo   Frown

Caissa

Thank Marx for the Memorial Cup.

DaveW

although I like both Anaheim and Tampa, a Sunbelt Cup final would be too much to absorb;

it could still be an Original Six final, but odds shrinking hugely after Chicago loss last night ...

NorthReport

4 - 0

I can't believe it.  Smile

NorthReport
Caissa
