So what are we going to do to address it?
huh? i think the article addressed it.
Thread title changed because NorthReport is unable to contain his boundless enthusaism for keeping babblers guessing.
I think in fairness that NR wanted to raise this as a "Canadawide" problem for the NDP, not confined to Alberta. That's what I took from his thread title.
Sure, but there was no indication of what that problem was. Just that it was Canadawide. I would suggest that if NorthReport wants to have a specific discussion, he should follow the guidelines of titling threads -- like he has been told countless times. Then he wouldn't have a moderator coming in to guess on his behalf.
I remember seeing a facebook post during the election about defacing of Katherine Swampy's signs during the election. She only went public with the story of her experience afterwards. She was one of two FN candidates who ran for the NDP.

The article says 13% of NDP mlas are visible minorities vs 18% for entire population.
It doesn't give the percentages for PCS or Wildrose MLAs which is suspect is much less.
Let's strive to improve things, eh!

This is a super important point. Of course our mainstream parties can always do better in making sure that marginalized voices are represented, but is telling that in an unprecedented Orange wave, a riding just outside of Edmonton could not only not elect an excellent Aboriginal woman candidate, it was downright hostile to her.
