“If I win, it will be easier. As a group, when we tell them, they definitely have to listen,” Shanthikumar says in the recording, which the Star translated into English.
The caller then asks him directly if he is against abortion and same-sex marriage.
“All that,” Shanthikumar says. “What is not in the Bible, what the Bible is against, I am against. . . . What the Bible is against, I will be against.”
The recording, which is just under seven minutes long, also shows the source told Shanthikumar he was a voter in the riding, a Christian who opposes changes to the Ontario sex education curriculum, abortion and same-sex marriage, but confirmed to the Star none of these things are true.
The source, who explained that he decided to secretly record Shanthikumar because he respects the NDP “for where they stand on fundamental rights” but had concerns about how they and other parties select and vet their candidates.

It gets worse, the NDP central is not going to give him the boot

quizzical

"concern" seems to be everywhere. it all rings hollow to me.

Mr. Magoo

I think you may have just independently discovered "concern trolling", quizzical.

"I'm not against a woman's right to choose, I'm just thinking about the health and well being of the non-mother!"

"I don't have a personal beef with two men marrying, if they believe that that's 'love', but I don't want to see them getting in over their heads!"

"I don't have an axe to grind with Thomas Mulcair, I just worry that he may have made an unforgiveable, irredeemable mistake!"

oh my.....and this is allowed here!!!!

"A concern troll is a false flag pseudonym created by a user whose actual point of view is opposed to the one that the troll claims to hold. The concern troll posts in Web forums devoted to its declared point of view and attempts to sway the group's actions or opinions while claiming to share their goals, but with professed "concerns". The goal is to sow fear, uncertainty and doubt within the group."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_troll#Concern_troll

"One common tactic of concern trolls is the "a plague on both your houses" approach, where the concern troll tries to convince people that both sides of the ideological divide are just as bad as each other, and so no one can think themselves "correct" but must engage in endless hedging and caveats. This preys on a willingness to debate critics and allow dissent; everyone wastes time discussing the matter and bending over backwards, so as not to appear intolerant of disagreement, all to the great amusement of the troll."

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Concern_troll

"A concern troll is a person who participates in a debate posing as an actual or potential ally who simply has some concerns they need answered before they will ally themselves with a cause. In reality they are a critic. Concern trolling in geek feminism communities can result in continual reversion to Feminism 101 discussions in attempts to appease the troll's concerns, frustrating attempts at more serious discussion. Concern trolls are not always self-aware, they may also view themselves as potential allies who have just, oddly, never met a feminist opinion they liked.

Concern trolls can be identified primarily because they will retreat from, rather than engage with or be convinced by, answers to the questions they pose. They may repeatedly ask a certain question in feminist discussions without ever absorbing or replying to answers from previous discussions. They will often back into typical anti-feminist arguments, such as expressing concern that an argument is too "extreme" or a feminist too "strident" or even "hysterical". Another common tactic is insisting that some subjects are more important than others, for example, that media depictions of women shouldn't be criticised while violence against women continues.

Concern trolling is frequently banned in feminist communities."
