Random shorts and films from the 'net.

Sometimes I like just randomly watching videos and clips from YouTube or whatever.  So figured I'd start a thread.

I saw Schumer's film Trainwreck recently.  I'd never heard of her before, but I was quite impressed.  Here's a video parody she did:  Milk Milk Lemonade:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0n4WB6SVBa8

Anyone who watched The All Night Show in Toronto with Chuck the Security Guard might remember this odd short:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d4AojZ4KeY

Heres a fun web series: Nikola Tesla and the End of the World. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y-xi2oSLFOg

Mr. Magoo

I went looking for this one, that I've seen a bunch of times, and ended up learning something new about it.

I'd always assumed it was scripted, and that the animators chose some quirky voice actors, but evidently it was created by asking random people on the street about zoos (so, the polar bear family) or about their home (including some people living in senior's homes).  Then they did the animation afterward.  It's by Nick Park (think: Wallace and Grommit, or Chicken Run) so it's old skool stop-motion animation.  And apparently the jaguar is just some Brazilian guy who moved to the UK.

I love that film!

I enjoyed the Tesla shorts.  And I've always been a huge fan of Nick Park -- Chicken Run is my favourite film of all time.  I like when shorts use some natural dialogue in them -- adds a uniqueness to it.  Here's a partially improvised short by Don Hertzfeldt called Lily and Jim, about a couple on a first date.  A bit slow moving but totally relateable.  His other cartoons are somewhat wilder, like Rejected, which I also like.

Here's a film by Jim Reardon, writer for the Simpsons, from back when he was a student:  Bring Me the Head of Charlie Brown (warning, kinda crazy violent)

Here's a parody workout film with Henry Rollins:  Pump With a Chump

and Apocalypse Pooh

CBC Radio's the Irrelevant Show is always good for a laugh.  Here's a few good skits from it:

Bedbugs

Scones

Beer
