have any BCers heard about this?
B.C. changes conflict of interest law?
at last night's council meeting one of the council members said the BC Liberals had changed conflict of interest laws. basically getting rid of them according to the report.
has anyone else heard about this change?
Haven't seen anything since last week's news:

But I'm far away.
this is something else other than Christie double dipping.
Quizzical, this is probably what they were referring to:

A municipal litigator says the BC Liberal cabinet’s quiet move to weaken local government conflict-of-interest rules came as a surprise. The April 14 order-in-council amendments to the Vancouver Charter and the Community Charter’s conflict-of-interest exceptions allow elected local government officials to also sit on boards and societies without fear of being disqualified from office.
yup.
and i heard it's now based on 'one's personal integrity' and 4 points of what it means.
this going to be used to get around business conflicts of interest imv.

Though it doesn't appear they changed the conflict of interest law governing the conduct of members of the BC legislature. Which means that, while this stinks, it doesn't appear to be a change enacted to get Christy Clark out of a conflict of interest over the extra salary she recieves from the BC Liberal Party.
