GOP scumbag gutter presidential nominee may lead to clean sweep for the Democrats

2 days before the next debate

The Democrats if they keep the high road could well have a clean sweep and take the Presidency, the Senate and the House and of course filling the Supreme Court

Time for Obama to consider withdrawing Merrick Garland'n nomination to the Supreme Court and for Hillary to seriously consider nominating Obama
That would indeed drive the racists insane

I think that this isn't the end of his skeletons in his closet. I personally know of much worse that hasn't been addressed yet. It was in the media before but it hasn't come up yet. It's been hush hush so far.

Rev Pesky

We may see the GOP completely distancing thenmselves from Trump. As I said in another thread, the family values crowd is a large part of the GOP base. While they'll put up with all sorts of racism and bigotry, Trumps attacks on women are just too much. They may hate Clinton, but I suspect many will stay home rather than vote for Trump.

I suppose Obama would have to become a lower Court judge first before he could sit on supreme court

I just looked it up and apparently Obama could be appointed to the Supreme Court. In fact, former President Taft was appointed by Harding eight years after he left the White House and served as a Supreme Court Justice for eight years from 1921-1930. Hillary was once asked about her thoughts of appointing Obama if she won the election, and the media also asked Obama what his thoughts were about going to the Supreme Court after he left office. So, I guess he could do it if he was appointed to go.

NP: I am no expert, but my interpretation of what Wang said is that the election polls in the United States are not volatile, so an event like this latest scandal is not going to shift committed Republican voters away from the GOP. There might be a short term ripple in the polls, but his committed support base are hunkered in at this point behind Trump.

What we're watching is not just a buffoon's campaign spiralling to its death but the brand,Trump, the name used to sell everything from steaks to douche bags.

He's left with only his groupies. Much of them with very few years left on this planet.

Donald Trump Accused of Raping a Thirteen Year Old Girl! Media Cover-Up!

Huffington Post Article includes:

1.  A list of previous court cases against Trump for sexual assault and rape.

2. One previous court case sounds eerily similar to the taped recording on Friday of Trump bragging about forcing himself on a woman, groping her, and getting away with it because he is famous.

3. Trump has alleged links to Jeffry Epstein, a very high profile Level 3 convicted and registered sex offender.

It's important to spend a bit of time on the background of someone who might have become President before rushing full bore into attacking the President-elect as there will be plenty of time for that
I have concerns about a bunch of the usual white males jumping in and attacking the first woman President of the United States even before she has taken office

Unfortunately I cannot fully conform to your stereotype as I am only male, but not white. Nonetheless, if they offend you, please disregard my misogynistic comments towards our saintly first female POTUS as merely mindless attacks of one who objects to the woman candidate not due to any legitimate grievances (because of course there are none) but simply because she is a woman. /s

My only attack on the first woman POTUS in this context is that those in glass houses should not throw stones. If only Bernie Sanders won, I wouldn't be forced to lament that both candidates have close ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Seriously, how sick is it that when you hear that a generally objectionable candidate is buddies with a convicted pedophile, you can't use it as an effective bludgeon on that candidate because the other candidate is also friends with that same pedophile.

I wonder who the American people will choose. Orange pedo-Hitler 2.0, or the first woman POTUS who is (of course!!) above legitimate reproach. Tsk. Decisions, decisions... /s

That would be a fantastic writing prompt.

America just went through the most divisive, brutal election in history. The candidates are the most hated in history. Both are corrupt, power-hungry, and will stop at nothing to win. The outsider, nationalistic, pro-2nd amendment candidate "wins" the electoral college by a razor-thin margin of only 4 electoral votes, despite widespread collusion during the election season between his globalist opponent, the establishment media, and many federal institutions including the FBI, the Houses, and the DOJ. But in an unprecendented twist, the existing establishment refuses to relinquish control - members of the winner's party turn coat, giving the presidency to the establishment darling instead - shattering any remaining illusions about a "free and fair Democracy" that, in truth, died long ago, if it ever existed in the first place. Follow one family as they struggle to survive in the aftermath as the most powerful nation on the planet descends into anarchy and chaos the likes of which has never seen before...

[spoiler alert]

Half the family dies, the other half only dies on the inside. As someone who relied on glasses for 22 years, I felt especially sorry the young man who couldn't replace his broken glasses and ended up losing a leg after a cut got infected.

[/end spolers]

Is a Trump presidency that dangerous? More dangerous than 50 million Americans going to the "Ammo Box?" Sometimes I wonder if these journalists actually ever think.

It seems about 4 in 10 Americans like this. His brand is still strong and this says some unfortunate things about his country. If anything he has hardened his brand at the short-term cost of the GOP. (No sympathy for the GOP -- this is what they really have been turning into anyway)

In Canada we also have a market for vileness.

I suppose that if people are judged by the company they keep - and they are - then being married to Bill Clinton for decades is pretty relevant in this context.

It takes a real feminist icon to stand by a man like Bill Clinton.

I don't give two figs who wins in November. Both candidates are horrible. My objection is to you suggesting that attacks against Clinton - an objectively terrible candidate - made in this space are invalid because they are gender-based. This is not to say there are no attacks against Clinton that are gender-based, and of course gender-based attacks are invalid. But here on rabble.ca there are no gender-based attacks on Hillary Clinton.

If you see me "defend" Trump or "attack" Clinton, that is only because I generally only speak up when I see something I disagree with. Since I have seen no invalid criticisms of Clinton in this space, nor invalid defenses of Trump, you don't see me take contrary positions.

When I participate in more balanced forums, I criticize and/or defend both candidates where they are being treated unfairly (either positively or negatively).

If there was someone active in this space who was spewing out Trump propaganda with the mindless devotion and fervor that you spew every bit of partisan nonsense you find, then you would see me criticizing Trump at least as much as I criticize Clinton.

Let's call Utah "Romney's revenge"! Laughing

Trump's incredible shrinking map

Six of the 11 battleground states are now in Hillary Clinton's pocket.

But perhaps the most unlikely competitive state is Utah, which has only voted for a Democrat for president once since the 1940s. Mormon voters are chafing at Trump, who is overwhelmingly unpopular there despite the state’s Republican orientation. Rigorous polling is sparse, but there are indications that support is building for Evan McMullin, a former House GOP staffer and Brigham Young alumnus running as an independent. The race in Utah could come down to a three-way contest between Trump, Clinton and McMullin — and ceding the six electoral votes there could put the race even more out of reach for Trump.

With Trump the Chump you just can't keep a bad man down it appears

The Racism Behind Trump's 'Rigged Election' Talk

Trump shows how little he cares about "the blacks"

By now, it's clear Trump doesn't care about black Americans, and his debate performance last Wednesday solidified that. Because if Trump truly cared about "the blacks," as he's called us, he would've vigorously walked back his comments about monitoring polling places and would not have further insinuated that the election results might be illegitimate, given our nation's long history of voter intimidation and election violence targeted at African-Americans.

When it comes to being victimized in the name of voting, no group has suffered such savagery and indignity as the black community. This is, after all, a nation where black folks were pronounced only three-fifths of a personfor the sake of proportional representation in the Electoral College for nearly a century before the 15th Amendment prohibited state and federal governments from denying citizens the right to vote based on their race or color. Basically, America's ruling white majority was telling blacks, We won't let you interfere with policy decisions since you don't know what's best for the rest of us, or yourselves.

In 1865, the Civil War ended and the 13th Amendment was passed, abolishing slavery – and the KKK was formed. During the ensuing years of the Reconstruction Era, black voters were routinely threatened, intimidated, assaulted and murdered by white paramilitary organizations and vigilante groups who believed democracy was threatened by black autonomy. Even after the 15th Amendment passed in 1870, militia groups like the White League, the Red Shirts and the Knights of the White Camelia used bloody insurgency to "protect" democracy against the black vote. Black men and women were beaten, shot and lynched for attempting to exercise their constitutional rights.

These attacks on the legitimization of the black vote eventually evolved into poll taxes and literacy tests – which, along with traditional anti-black intimidation and violence, heavily affected black voter turnout throughout the early 20th century. Law enforcement, the Klan and the White Citizens Council collaborated to prevent blacks from voting. Black activists and those who desired to vote were, still, arrested, beaten and even killed.

Even after the Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965, significantly increasing black voter registration, these problems didn't go away. As Michelle Alexander notes in her brilliant book The New Jim Crow, the War on Drugs has created a caste system through mass incarceration, stripping a devastating number of African-Americans of their voting rights. As America's incarcerated population swells to over 2.3 million people, with black people making up 40 percent of that group, despite being only 13 percent of the overall population, it's clear America's long, tragic history of black voter disenfranchisement is still alive today – it's just become more covert. See also: voter ID laws and other modern efforts that disproportionately target would-be voters of color.

In this context, Trump's comments about the election being "rigged" are terrifying – they're a dog-whistle reference to one of the nation's most longstanding displays of racism. Trump, a man who has condoned and promoted violence against minorities at his rallies, is once again inciting fear among aggrieved white conservatives who see President Obama as representative of everything that's been taken from them.

Perhaps the only good news here is that Trump's white supporters aren't the only ones who've heard him loud and clear. Black America has also gotten Trump's message – and is planning to vote accordingly.
