What is more bizarre still is how many NON Jewish (and non Roma) Poles were murdered in the Nazis' ethnic cleansing and outright theft of everything in that country. The Nazis didn't view Slavs as fully white: at most, "valuable genetic material" (from the Scandinavian Rus) could be "extracted" from them by a horrible winnowing process, stealing Polish children and killing those who didn't conform to the Aryan nutty "racial" rules.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised that "white nationalists" are so utterly stupid and lacking in the most elementary historical memory.

Here my take on what is happening.  It starts with Law and Justice Party in the Poland. They got elected 2015 but they after not regular party they want a new "stronger" Poland.  They are building something akin to American Exepectionlism but a Polish version.  This is based on morality, nationalism, historical grievances, and the RC church.  

Some in the thread have talked about Trump and Russian influence.  Trump compared LAJ party maybe the goals are similar but the results are different.  Trump is has accomplished very little but LAJ party going to be reelected with maybe even with a absolute majority.  They combined nationalism and welfare together and generally people approve.    As for Russia being part of the pro polish nationalism that is non starter.  Remember historical grievances well there  is deep to mild distrust to both Germany and Russia from WW2.

Building this new Polish narrative means that they have to celebrate nationalism as it is the glue that holds together the message.  The president is now critical of the march in a qualified way.

Pumping up people with nationalism leads to embarrassing and potentially deadly events. It depends on the voters will they empower the Law and Justice party with more vote or less.

Law and Justice Party   ---  45% they were elected with 38% in 2015.

Civic Platform ---   17% 

anti-establishment Kukiz’15  --- 8 %

Modern Party --- 5%

I remember denouncing nationalism on babble years ago. I warned that it's a cancer. For once I got it right on the money. This is why flags need to be BURNED not saluted or respected.
