In 2006, Brown was tried as an adult and the jury rejected her plea of self defense. She was found guilty of first-degree murder and aggravated robbery. Brown is currently serving a life sentence in the Tennessee Prison for Women in Nashville.

To be fair, wouldn't she have likely been convicted of the same in Canada?  In other words, wouldn't she have had to wait until he pointed a gun at her, to point a gun at him?  Personally, I don't always agree with that, but isn't that how it works?

And if she was "trafficked", that's criminal, but we're not talking about her shooting the person who trafficked her.

I'll also note that she testified that she thought he was reaching for a gun.  I'm OK with that, too, but isn't that what every cop says?  Are we ready to give credibility to that?
