How do I close my Rabble acct?

It is possible to scramble your own password, though, effectively "locking yourself out".

1.  Open a text editor and type in some random gibberish (e.g. "lkuwhjgut").  Don't look too closely at it.

2.  Select it, and choose "cut" from the edit menu (or click CTRL-X) to cut it to the clipboard

3.  Access your profile and change your password, using paste, or CTRL-V to enter the gibberish.  Do this again to confirm your new password.

4.  When done, select some text anywhere on the page and copy that to the clipboard, overwriting your gibberish.  Now your password is something you'll never remember or guess.

Or you could just take a step back and if you want come back after a while probably we are still here, or if you find you are in a happier place that is good too.

I agree with NDPP! Sorry Richard I’m not very familiar with your contributions since I’m still relatively green here myself but I’m not at all new to writing. And if another poster here is willing to vouch for you, than to me it sounds like you’ve established a style/familiarity with your pseudonym. Now obviously you’re going to do whatever you wish to do, but for me I wouldn’t throw away my writings or walk away from them or the ability to continue writing under the name I’ve already established.  If for whatever reason I found myself in a position you are in now (or what I may think you’re in) I would just do nothing for a month(ish) in regards to babble. Then come back and reevaluate. This has happened to me before. And will happen to me again, guaranteed!!!! I see it happen to other posters all the time and this isn’t anything new. Similar to writers block, very common actually.

The problem with the "self-delete" suggestion is that often threads get locked, which makes this impossible.

I do feel it's important for users here to have the option to close their accounts, meaning to have their posts and threads be eliminated (or, at the very least, to have their username on past posts be changed to "Anonymous", to maintain the posts and ideas of others while anonymising the user who wishes to delete his/her account).

I'm bewildered that the admins of Babble haven't taken this, what should be seen as a core right of members, seriously.  I accept that content can be moderated, and thus users barred, but ultimately users should have the final say in whether content they created (and also their identity and/or persona) stays or not.  It's a real shortcoming, IMO, of this board.  It's a serious breach of privacy, IMO.  Babble should be better than this.

Given that the CMS being used is Drupal, I feel this is quite possible, and should be enabled.  A cursory search brings up stuff like "User Delete", which looks as if it could possibly be set up to achieve the end of giving this capability to users of Babble.
