Mike Harris Jr. To Take On NDP Catherine Fife In Waterloo

Mike Harris Jr. says it is time for a change in Waterloo

Hmm. The Conservatives in Ontario are dangerous but this is something that could make things worse for them. first a reminder of what the Harris years were like and with Ford as leader, that might be absolutely terrifying.

The NDP in the province started this eyar as the weakest most distant shot. What we have seen is a series of shakeups that level the playing field. They now do have a path to power. This could be the perfect storm creating a horrible Trump-like Ontario government, A zombie Liberal government that won't go to the grave, or an NDP goverrnment. Impossible to say yet.

I literally clicked on this to see whether the eponymous son of former ON Premier Mike Harris was looking for a seat in this riding, or whether "Mike Harris Jr." was just an adorable nickname for an unlikeable conservative candidate.

Sounds like something you'd hear women saying while they looked at a dating site..."That guy looks like a total 'Mike Harris Jr', Jane...you gotta 'swipe left' on that loser".

I was wondering if it was a reference to this guy: Wikipedia: Michael Harris (politician), but it appears he is running for a different seat in the area. And I don't think he's related to the other, more famous Ontario PC pol.

I hope Fife can fight off the challenge. There is a lot of 'new money' tech people moving into condos and lofts in downtown Waterloo, who might not be perceptive to the populist, bread and butter platform of Horwath's NDP.

The NDP needs to hold Catherine Fife's seat.

Fife, if she survives, is the next NDP leader.

Very possible. But That would depend on how the ONDP do. Opposition status will be Horwath’s front row seat ticket to 2022 election. 3rd place showing will only be showing horwath the door. Good subject for an upcoming thread. I will also throw in Taras Natyshacks name in there. Actually at the moment I believe Taras Natyshak would be a better leader for the ONDP. But either are strong. I also connect with Armstrong. She took on her husbands name and her parents are actually Portuguese from the Acores. But not Sao Miguel.

Fife’s seat is risky, don’t get me wrong, she fucking works her ass off and deserves that seat!!!! But still a big ?
