A first phase will likely avoid the city of Idleb itself. Jish al-Shigur in the north-west adn the areas south of the M4 and M5 highway will be the primary targets. The battle will proceed from there. It is likely that the US, in one way or another, will try to hamper any Syrian army progress..."

The Russian warnings of a fabricated chemical attack by the west in Syria for cause to escelate NATO military intervention is actually being covered by the Chinese news! 

This would suggest a split in the UN. US UK France on one side and Russia China on the other. I suspect India may side with Russia China? But maybe only 50/50 odds. 

If this does happen, for sure there will be a large legion of central Asian countries siding with Syria Russia and China. And may very well be the end of western intervention in Syria.
