Hello all. I am checking in even though I may seem invisible. (always wanted that super power) Any way, last Tuesday the 18th I became a grandfather. (that's second one in 14 months) A happy event indeed. Less so was the apartment fire they had about 1 AM Xmas eve. My wife was there at the time. Ended up camping out in a Ramada Inn at 3AM. I had to make the 3 hour drive to get them up and they're staying here for a few weeks. So, stressed and distracted as I am, I will uphold my highest standard of moderating. That pretty much means trying not to accidently ban myself again.
The grandchild is perfect, and I'm making sure I take the time to enjoy him.

Funny little thing. As a fireman was giving oxygen to my then 6 day old grandson in the apartment lobby, he asked my daughter about her high school. Turns out they were in drama class together for 4 years. She remembers him as always wanting to be a fireman. The whole thing was actually pretty bad. Two fire crews and paramedics. They were in London I was in Oshawa. Rough few days.

Congratulations on the new grandson. Sounds like a rough situation your daughter ended up in. I hope that one of the firemen being a former classmate of hers was of some comfort during what was no doubt a very stressful time.
