Met the guy once at the 2012 leadership convention in TO. He was the type of person that wanted to engage you. Good guy.
Although I knew his brain cancer might bring this sad news sooner than later, I am still very saddened to hear it.
I first met Paul as the cute guy managing all us volunteers on the phone banks working for Marion Dewar's bid for the provincial seat for Ottawa Centre (previously held by Evelyn Gigantes). Everyone around me knew him and loved him. I was new to the scene but he did seem like a force - charmng, in-charge and kind. RIP Paul.
Rabble's eulogy of unstinting political praise was in "News" rather than a "Blog" titled:

It is indeed sad for the family and friends of Paul Dewar, and he may have been a nice guy for those who met him, but one can't ignore his unfortunate support for the "big guy."
His role included support for the NDP's new endorsement of NATO and a "foreign critic" supporter of Harper in an advocacy for the US-led aggression against oil-rich Libya. In Canada he was the poster boy for normalizing the deceitful cover story of "humanitatarian intervention".
Unfortunately too many top NDPers are capable and ready to fill his role. Whether through ignorance or something else, they appear incapble of learning from the long history of US-led regime change operations and the misery from the greed that drives them:
