Canada inserts a Zio guardian/gatekeeper to ensure those 'rights' don't include critical reporting on Apartheid Israel...

Our Minister of All Vassal Relationships had this to say about his statement. Strange that she thinks it is all right for her to be advising political soulmates in Venezuela and the Ukraine on how to secure particular outcomes that the NATO imperium wants.

“In that context, I think it is inappropriate for any Canadian to be advising any foreign government in ways it ought, or ought not to, behave to secure any particular election outcome in Canada.”

Juan Guaido is a convenient puppet. I have no idea why Freeland and Trudeau were so determined to jump on Trump's bandwagon - part of the ongoing assault on Venezuela that dates back to Chavez and Bush Jr.

If you read the document itself, the Americans are saying nothing more than that the Liberals are placing top priority on maintaining good relations with the USA. Which, whatever you think of it as a policy, is hardly a radical departute from the position of previous governments.

Also, in the Communist Party's reproduction of the memo, I can't find the title, which is supposed to be the part containing the phrase "America First". I'll assume it was there, though.

Here's more on FM Chrystia Freeland's 'dear friend Kelly Craft, Trump's former US Ambassador to Canada, now his new UN Ambassador:

"...In September 2017, she was appointed US Ambassador to Canada. But she was absent from the post for more than 300 days - around half of her almost 20-month tenure. Enough to worry some US lawmakers at her confirmation hearing. 'It's an extraordinary number of absences. The reds describe each day that you were away from post,' US Senator Bob Menendez said at her confirmation hearing.

She received her Canadian ambassadorship days after donating money, with her husband, to Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and inaugural committee - totaling over one million dollars. She is a top Republican donor and her billionaire husband Joseph Craft III is CEO and president of a major US coal company, Allied Resources Partners.

One analyst said her experience is limited for the [UN] post. 'It seems that Kelly Craft, given her more limited experience in foreign affairs, coupled with the fact that she comes from a donor background rather than an independent political background, or an expert on foreign policy, is going to limit her ability to be a highly effective UN ambassador,' Michael John Williams, Director of International Relations at NYU said. She'll replace Nikki Haley who stepped down at the end of last year, leaving the post vacant until now. Haley strongly promoted America's pro-Israel, anti-Iran stance at the UN, while pushing back against Russia and China*..." In the campaign for next month's Canadian election, Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland is as much of a liability, and for the same reason as Bolton was for Trump. For Trudeau to survive in power, it is the voters of Quebec backing him, not the Ukrainian voters who support Freeland, who will be decisive. Freeland's last desperate measure, to encourage the Canadian press to report the threat of Russian interference in the Canadian election, is going to fail, not because it's false, but because Canadian voters, starting in her home province of Ontario, reject her as a threat to their future..."

I concur. And to the extent that voters ARE up in arms about alleged Russian influence, it tends to be people who hate guys like Trump(and believe the Russiagate stuff), and think that Trudeau, and by extension Freeland, represent a diametrically opposed worldview to MAGA.

Let's face it, when you've got things like Jason Kenney announcing how much he loves Putin's approach to environmental activists, it's gonna be pretty hard to convince liberal or centre-left Canadians that the real progressive place to be is on Team Putin.

I'm pretty sure Freeland would be toast were she to run as a Conservative in University—Rosedale, no? I think she'd need to find another riding, which might be kind of awkward, given that she would already have one.

I agree that being pro-Ukrainian is not going to help Freeland, by and large, win ethnic Ukrainian votes in western Canada. There might be a few more liberal Ukrainian-identified voters in places like Edmonton, who generally agree with what the Liberal Party is supposed to represent, but would be turned off if they were viewed as actively supporting Russia. But even then, the party probably doesn't have to be aggressively pro-Ukraine, just as long as they're not viewed as pro-Russia.

Well, in my experience, candidates usually parachute into a new riding when a) they've just been chosen as party leader and need a seat in the House, or b) they've been defeated in their old riding, but are considered important enough for the party to keep around(eg. usually because they're already the leader).

How common is it for a sitting candidate to say "Well, I'm pretty much guaranteed to lose the next election in this riding, so I'll just ask the party to find me another one"? Sincere question, I honestly don't know.

Scheer Accuses Trudeau of Negotiating Weak NAFTA Replacement After Pressure

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-scheer-accuses-trudeau-...

"Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer accused Justin Trudeau of leaving Canada with a weakened North American free-trade agreement after a senior NAFTA adviser said the Liberal Leader was persuaded to make significant concessions on Donald Trump's terms - claims Mr Trudeau declined to respond to Sunday. Speaking to reporters in Surrey, BC on Sunday, Mr Scheer said it's unbelievable that Mr Trudeau would agree to take a deal that forced him to accept all the concessions the US President was demanding.

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, who was touring Quebec, accused Mr Trudeau of caving in...'Justin Trudeau has used supply-managed producers as a bargaining chip. 'Instead of standing up for farm families, he sold them out to Donald Trump based on the advice of an American billionaire,' Mr Singh said in a statement."

The NAFTA 2.0 sellout was clear and plain as it was being negotiated by Freeland, Trudeau et al, at the time.  Pity these opposition leaders didn't strenously object then, but cynically choose to politically exploit their own weak and negligent performances on the file now. Ditto most of the Canadian liberal left who apparently now feel it is no longer necessary to oppose such neoliberalist surrenders, imperialism etc but increasingly prefer to cheer them on. For those, a minister like Freeland and her fake 'feminist foreign policy', is the perfect fit.

Freeland Revokes Appointment of Assad Sympathizer As Syrian Consul in Montreal

As first reported by Macleans, Global Affairs approved the Montreal businessman for the posting last month after the Syrian government nominated him...He also referred to the White Helmets, a volunteer organization known as the Syrian Civil Defense as 'terrorists'."

Why doesn't Freeland appoint one of those several hundred members of this Al Qaeda affilate now 'settled' here as consul in his place? What an total, unmitigated disaster as Canadian Foreign Minister. Sold Canada down the river with 'Free Trade' surrender agreements like the new NAFTA; ratcheted up tensions between Ukraine/Russia, deepening Canada's involvement in the quagmire. Helped destroy Canada's trading relationship with second-largest customer China via the Meng Wanzhou fiasco; supported US regime-change operations from Venezuela to Bolivia; Helped continue Canada's unconscionable arms trade with Saudi Arabia; slavishly supported Apartheid Israel;  Always jumped as high as Mike Pompeo or Donald Trump wished 'Canada's Margaret Thatcher' to. Good riddance to Chrystia Freeland respresenting Canada on the world stage!

Significantly, she retains responsibility over Canada-US relations. Obviously some very important people wish it to be so.

Why is Freeland so popular for so many Canadians ?  It might be partly her looks.  She stands out in her red dresses.  Of course she has "stood up for Canada" with China and Russia, two very misunderstood powers, thanks to Canadian newspapers, radio and television, even CBC which always refer to rioters in Hong Kong as "prodemocracy".  Also she is Not Trump.  She shares that quality with every politician-Not Trump.  Saudi Arabia was good for her.  She stood up.  Have we ever had a Foreign Minister (Global Affairs) as popular ?  Joe Clark ?  The World Needs More Canada !!!  (more CO2)
