Hate group on Facebook targets Cambridge ON woman

It is a group dedicated to getting pictures of a woman seen around town. It encourages members to take pictures, whether the woman wants them taken or not.

This woman is described as a beast, a creature, "it" and worse.

She is a woman of colour.

The only thing I worry about is whether or not the people who belong to the group would be able to tell who had "reported" them. All I (or anyone else) would need is these nasty fuckers stalking them.

I find it amazing that people are willing to post this shit using their real names! A lot of these people are high school kids. Do they think that none of this will come back to haunt them when it's job hunting time?

And what the hell is wrong with facebook, anyhow? They have apparently had at least 30 complaints about this group, and nothing has been done yet. But they're deleting pictures of breastfeeding left, right and centre.

I've also heard alot of other nicknames for her : Aunt Jamima, Black Crack, Video Hut Slut, Afro Bitch, Macy Gray, The Delta Prowler, Sasquatch, Bigfoot and the Price Chopper Whopper.

At least he's smart enough to use a nickname (unless, of course, it's the name he's known by everywhere).

Looks like there are a couple of high schools in the area (like Monsignor Doyle) who could do with teaching the kids there some compassion, or maybe doing some sensitivity training or something. Maybe someone should bring it to the attention of the high schools listed for many of these kids.

Anyhow, this is the e-mail I just sent to the mayor of Cambridge, ONTARIO:

As you can see, this is an extremely offensive thing that is being done to an indigent member of your community. Most of the people who have joined the group are young people, many in high school and college/university. They are victimizing this woman, and stalking her with cameras and video cameras, and posting pictures and videos of her to this group for the purpose of ridiculing her. They are calling her incredible racist and sexist names, like "crackwhore," "Afro bitch" and "Black crack".

I realize that you do not have authority over Facebook, but I think it would be a good thing for you to see what is happening in your community. There have been over 30 complaints made to Facebook, and yet this group still remains. Perhaps a word from the Mayor of the city this poor woman lives in to the owners of Facebook (or at least a statement of some kind about it) might provide the required pressure to end this stalking. Thank-you in advance for any help you can offer to this victimized resident of your city.
