babble is rabble.ca's discussion board but it's much more than that: it's an online community for folks who just won't shut up. It's a place to tell each other — and the world — what's up with our work and campaigns.
Nope, sorry. "Admin" on this site means you are the site administrator, so that won't be possible. If you'd like to choose another name, I'll be happy to change it to that.
Is God calling the new babble an Intelligent design?
Give it some time. I think the new format will have much more capabilities
than the old babble. There is a lot to work out, by the sounds of it. It
will take some time.
I notice that, in all my posts, the lines of text are compacted to
the same width as the 'post new comment' box. And also some odd breaks
in the text, moving one part of a sentence down to the next line, like
some kind of bad poetry. Will also mention this in my feedback. Could
be that I'm using Netscape as a browser. Will try in IE.
In 1978, I was editor of a newspaper. One day, the publisher took me out to lunch and when we returned, my beautiful electric typewriter was gone, replaced by a computer. I gasped in horror and demanded, to no avail, that he give my typewriter back.
Since then, I've been through many many changes, as you can imagine, dragged kicking and screaming each time. I could never believe that these changes were going to improve anything.
Sometimes, they didn't -- most often, they did and I would reluctantly admit that I had been wrong.
I still resist change -- I resisted this one when I was still at rabble! -- but I've become a lot more patient, waiting for the improvements to kick in. I'm pretty sure it won't be very long until everyone is taking the new babble for granted and it will seem as if it's always been like this.
Well it didn't. So ask pogge how she got te email econ beside her handle.
1. I'm a he.
2. At the moment you have an email icon beside your little happy face. I wonder if that's actually for a private message. The only email address the system has for me is my personal addy (i.e. not my pogge addy) and if the system is publishing that then we have a problem. I haven't told it to publish that address. If you can see an email address for me, please confirm so I can yell at somebody.
ETA:
When I click on that mail icon, it takes me to a screen that would allow me to compose an email message to you. It would send that message on my private address. It does not show me your address, just your user name. So until I actually send you something I don't think you get my address. Until you reply, I don't get yours. (I didn't actually send you a message so don't go check your inbox.)
I sent you a message - a sorry one. I don't see a econ beside my name, and only have seen the little envelope beside your name, she said to he.
kids live and play together, let's let them learn together too!
What I would like is a place one who is a babbler could go with easy to understand directions about how to access the features on babble - we could call it babble self-help.

Okay Michelle. How about...Um......Spectrum?
Thanks,
I have no idea why your quoting function doesn't work. Did you break the new babble?
Testing still.

This makes me SO SAD. Okay, maybe it'll work this time? Maybe?
Test. Heybopareebob Beeboparuba!
Ok, now let's see about posting links...
LOL. Let's try posting some figures:
Babble is still causing sidescroll on my main computer, but not on my laptop. What the hell?
I hate this new babble. There's really nothing I like about it at all.

We'll see. Old babble was easier to use, and had better looking emoticons. Just sayin'.
Received and replied to.
I don't see the icon beside my own name. And I haven't noticed one associated with anyone else but you. I guess we're special.
You have no little envelope icon on my screen next to your name pogge, but jan does and slumberjack is the only other one in thread who does too.
