The answer is no envelope, do I have one beside my name on your screen?

No. I have no other ideas to try right now. Curious. Especially when there's already a separate private messaging system.

Hmm, when I click on jan's and slumberjack's envelopes it will send them a message from my private email, not as part of the forum pm system. But how do you enable the envelope, of for that matter disable it.

How the hell do you send a pm?

I agree Boom Boom. I see no advantages at all.

Things are looking up. I actually found something that is an improvement over the old babble!

On the Active Topics page, the links to thread titles change colour if I have accessed them recently. This allows me to easily pick out the threads that I have been following and ignore the rest.

The names of the forums also change colour if I've recently clicked on the link, but the change is so subtle (light grey v. dark grey?) it's not much use.

But we have to be grateful for the little things!

At the right, near the top is a box entitled "Your Menu." First link is  "My inbox." That takes you into the private messaging system. Click on the Compose tab to create a new message.

Actually, "My inbox" will only show up in the "Your menu" box [make up your minds, guys - is it My or Your?] if you have previously indicated that you want to receive PM's.

If you don't have "My inbox" showing, you will have to go to "My Account" (which appears in the extreme upper right of the page); click on the Edit tab and then scroll down to where you are asked if you want to receive PM's. Click the box to check it and then scroll down the page to click on the submit button.

A weird thing about the Your Menu box: I clicked on the "Create Content" line and the box instantly disappeared. I discovered later it had dropped down to the bottom of the page!

You have no little envelope icon on my screen next to your name pogge, but jan does and slumberjack is the only other one in thread who does too.

ok, I think this is what going on with little envelopes and not. I don't see a little envelope beside my stupid monkey picture cause I am the user and thus will not be writing myself (but maybe I want to Frown), but others see it. We need to get hold of that tech manual to help our babble cause - plackard time.

Our kids live together and play together in their communities, let's have them learn together too!

I've become a lot more patient, waiting for the improvements to kick in.  I'm pretty sure it won't be very long until everyone is taking the new babble for granted and it will seem as if it's always been like this.

Meanwhile, would you deny us the small pleasure of complaining? Spoilsport!

Brilliant idea. If my nephew is going to do a break-and-enter, I will cover for him by logging on in his name to prove he was home in front of his computer at the time.

I'll ask the tech people if we can ditch that feature.

My nephew will be so disappointed.  (P.S. I don't have a nephew.)

Long thread!  I'll start a new one.
