Wow. My non-rabble life is seriously kicking my ass right now. Well, let's be honest, my rabble life is probably kicking my ass right now too.
You probably feel me on that. How tired are you?
I'm so tired the bags under my eyes have become suitcases.
I'm so tired I thought today was spring when there's a snowstorm outside my window.
But okay, something that cheered me up this week was rabble's boss lady sending a note to all my social media accounts to make sure I knew Dairy Queen was giving away free ice cream. We have our priorities straight here. Don't even worry.
So take a deep breath and a nice, relaxing break with this week's Feel Good Friday and then GET BACK TO WORK OH MY GAWD!!!
Your Friday jam to kick it all off. You're welcome.
Minimum wages are going up! Ontario to $11.25 in October, Northwest Territories to $12.50 in June and B.C. to $10.45 in September.
My mom sent me this video. "Hi Kait!"
- Yes! Yes! Yes! More talk about the Radical Brownies! Hear from one of its founders Anayvette Martinez.
Let's hope the stake through the heart of the McNeil government's awful plan to destabilize the Nova Scotia government and General Employees' Union stays.
I guess some men don't understand that at a diversity panel they shouldn't interrupt and talk over women. #interrupttheinterrupters #cmondude #really
- Powerful op-ed by Zunera Ishaq on why she intends to wear a niqab at her citizenship ceremony.
OCAP wins fight for 24 hour women and trans* drop-in spaces!
It's 2050. Feminism has taken over the planet. Protein powder is banned, 'The Craft' is a reality and catcalls are literal. (Take me to this paradise please.)
Speaking of catcalls, here are some approved statements, for example: "I bought this expensive block of brie with herbs, but I think I want you to have it."
"It [was] a total girl-power year around here." These women farmers are sustaining the land.
- Bry Bitar stands up for their right to wear what they want.
Sexism in the food industry is AWFUL. These women have had enough.
- Artist KC Adams is taking on Indigenous stereotypes with her thought-provoking portrait series.
- Holy crap! Fraggle Rock is being made into a movie!

Thank you for reading this story…
More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
rabble.ca has staked its existence on you. We live or die on community support -- your support! We get hundreds of thousands of visitors and we believe in them. We believe in you. We believe people will put in what they can for the greater good. We call that sustainable.
So what is the easy answer for us? Depend on a community of visitors who care passionately about media that amplifies the voices of people struggling for change and justice. It really is that simple. When the people who visit rabble care enough to contribute a bit then it works for everyone.
And so we’re asking you if you could make a donation, right now, to help us carry forward on our mission. Make a donation today.
