War and instability on the continent has led to many people leaving their homes. Some, like Kadeeja, end up in New York, going to college and selling newspapers on street corners. A New York film producer Tara Milutis recently produced a short film, Newsgirl, based on her meeting with 20-year-old Chad-born girl.
