Carin Reinhardt of the Wild Organic Way Cafe in Guelph, Ontario, shares her experiences of the health benefits in eating raw, organic, unprocessed food for her, her husband, the children they've cared for and their many satisfied customers. Good nutrition beats pharmaceuticals in building healthy bodies, leaving one to wonder about government policies that created a generation of drugged out zombies.
This interview was conducted in April, 2006 following the Healthy Mind Body Planet tour event in Guelph, Ontario. Follow below in the show notes for the questions, and find the links to the nearly threee dozen other audio and video podcasts from the 2006 Healthy Mind Body Planet Tour.

(0:00 0:58) - intro
(0:59 - 1:05) Carin, tell me about raw food and your cafe.
(1:06 - 1:47) ...(we) decided to make a living by helping people get nourished.
(1:48 - 1:52) Nutrition and children - how did you wrap those two together?
(1:53 - 6:20) I only had healthy food in my home... all the children I had (they became healthier), their grades excelled... this lead me into studying nutrition (and) selling natural products.... working with children was a blessing.
(6:21 - 8:24)... what happens to kids on drugs is they get stoned, they get numb, and they lose sight of reality.
(8:25 - 12:24) ... my first step in healing a child would be to put them on an excellent diet of organic foods, as raw as you can. ... raw foods have a life force to them.
(12:25 - 13:54) ... we live in a society that people think we just have to follow the masses... if you want to be like everyone else just keep on doing what everyone else is doing.
(13:55 - 14:04) How have you found a whole raw food diet for your own mental, physical and spiritual health?
(14:05 - 15:42) ... you can not manifest anything better than what the creator has given us...
(15:43 - 17:07) one of the weaknesses we have is this sheep syndrome... I'm pleased to know there are people who care and they are standing up for our rights.
(17:08 - 18:01) extro

Thank you for reading this story…
More people are reading rabble.ca than ever and unlike many news organizations, we have never put up a paywall – at rabble we’ve always believed in making our reporting and analysis free to all, while striving to make it sustainable as well. Media isn’t free to produce. rabble’s total budget is likely less than what big corporate media spend on photocopying (we kid you not!) and we do not have any major foundation, sponsor or angel investor. Our main supporters are people and organizations -- like you. This is why we need your help. You are what keep us sustainable.
rabble.ca has staked its existence on you. We live or die on community support -- your support! We get hundreds of thousands of visitors and we believe in them. We believe in you. We believe people will put in what they can for the greater good. We call that sustainable.
So what is the easy answer for us? Depend on a community of visitors who care passionately about media that amplifies the voices of people struggling for change and justice. It really is that simple. When the people who visit rabble care enough to contribute a bit then it works for everyone.
And so we’re asking you if you could make a donation, right now, to help us carry forward on our mission. Make a donation today.
