Montreal: Upwards of 100 demonstrators gathered outside of the Queen Elizabeth hotel to protest O'Connor's speech and Canada's mission in Afghanistan.

Local anti-war organizations Block the Empire and Échec à la guerre organized the rally to protest O'Connor's speech which they charge is part of an ongoing Conservative public relations campaign to sell the Afghan mission to the Canadian public.
