In fact a lot of tax talk is misdirection, trying to get people to focus on anything but the lack of progressive taxation and the amazing trick of the rich and large corporations not to pay their fair share. Some governments can't even collect it, hell, in Canada cities can't even do what many cities do around the world -- that is implement an income tax.
