The Venus Project and the non-profit organization Future by Design reflect the culmination of Jacque Fresco’s life work: the integration of the best of science and technology into a comprehensive plan for a new society based on human and environmental concern. It is a global vision of hope for the future of humankind in our technological age.

Mr. Fresco’s background includes industrial design and social engineering, as well as being a forerunner in the field of Human Factors. He has worked as both designer and inventor in a wide range of fields spanning from biomedical innovations to totally integrated social systems.

Many of the ideas on this web site are being translated into reality NOW. Phase One of The Venus Project is the twenty-five acre design center in still pristine south-central Florida, where the future is currently taking shape. The actual buildings and conference center are supplemented by models, illustrations, blueprints, posters, books and video presentations. These are the first steps that have been completed to help one see, feel, and touch the future. The buildings shown are the shape of things to come - not just the shape of architecture, but of a way of life that is attainable now. It can be clean, secure, high-tech, aesthetically pleasing, and yet in harmony with nature. The Venus Project provides the best of science and technology while preserving nature's balance.

Lynn Thompson was in Florida in April 2008 for the first time in connection with the show she produces for Radio Ear Network.

During that visit, she visited Jacque and his partner Roxanne Meadows at The Venus Project for a full afternoon along with her hosts while in Florida, Joe and his wife Marie. This 30 minute segment highlights much longer recordings made that memorable day of touring the property, buildings and a myriad of Jacque Fresco's futuristic thoughts.

It was Dr. Tomorrow (Frank Ogden) in Vancouver (see Episodes #75 and #77) who put Lynn in touch with The Venus Project in the fall of 2007, when he heard of the possibility of a visit to Florida in her future. He had been to visit Jacque and Roxanne many years ago after meeting at a futurist conference.
