Barbara Abercrombie has published two novels for adults, plus books for children, including the award winning picture book, Charlie Anderson. Her novels have been optioned for films and published in six languages. Her essays, articles and poems have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, including The Los Angeles Times, The Christian Science Monitor and United Airlines Hemisphere magazine.
Barbara teaches in the Writers' Program at UCLA Extension where she won the outstanding teacher award in 1994. Her latest book, Writing Out the Storm, Reading and Writing Your Way Through Serious Illness or Injury, published by St. Martin's Press in October 2002, is part memoir, part writing guide, based on her Wellness Community workshops for people whose lives have been touched by cancer.
