Living On Purpose

Episode Fifty-Five ~ Shelagh Rogers

| September 10, 2007

Show Notes:

In the spring of 2006 host of "Living on Purpose" Lynn Thompson sent an e-mail to CBC host Shelagh Rogers on a whim, welcoming her to consider being a guest on the show. Sporadic correspondence followed over the months until Shelagh and Lynn met in person for the first time in Toronto, June 2007 at Hugh's Room. Shelagh was the MC for the first night of the benefit for Oliver Schroer, and Lynn was spontaneously inspired to create an audio portrait of the event by recording two dozen brief interviews over the three evenings of "Olifiddle". A couple of months later it was finally agreed that Shelagh would be the surprise guest by phone at the end of Lynn's last "live" broadcast on CHLY after three years on air, on August 28. The surprise was that since it was also Shelagh's first day back at work at CBC Vancouver, in all the excitement both she and her person FORGOT about the phone call. Fortunately both Lynn and Shelagh are living proof of the "last minute" ability to show up. And so follows today's Episode of "Living on Purpose" ~ enjoy!
