Always wanted a blog of your own, but you just can't be bothered setting it up, writing pithy posts and dealing with all the comments? Hey, no problem. Set yourself up a nice little tumblelog instead. All the glory, none of the gutbusting. Tumblelog? Think of it as a nerf blog. A tumblelog is a quick, easy way to adopt the habit of what I call interstitial packrating. You know how you're reading your rss feeds, emails or websites and you come across a video, pic or post you'd love to share? But, you don't want to take the time to write an email or a blog entry about. You just want to toss it in a sort of public shoebox. That's what a tumblelog's for. When you spot the gem you want to share just lob it in the digital slipstream of your tumblelog and move on. Tumblelogs are easy to create, thanks to tumblr.com. That's tumblr, no e, how could it be a Web 2.0 tool if it had all its vowels? Tumblr lets you set up a tumblelog quickly, then you can create fast, no-brainer posts for text, video, pics even RSS feeds. It's really as simple as cut, paste and move on after you've made that drive-by shooting of a post to your tumblelog page. I think tumblelogs are a terrific idea for individuals or groups who just want to tape web clippings to their online fridge door.
