Show Notes:

In this podcast, I’m chatting with Richard B Wright, author of the award-winning Clara Callan, about his new novel, October. This is a terrific story about an aging academic, James, who discovers that his middle-aged daughter is dying. October, though, is much more than a journey through illness. It’s a story about family, unrequited young love and old grudges, as we follow James’ life, both as an old man, and as a teenager, coming of age in the 1940s. Perhaps most interesting of all, though, October offers a truly fascinating look into the male psyche. I spoke to Richard B. Wright from his home in Ontario.
