Single room occupancy rooms are vanishing from Vancouver's downtown eastside taking with them a rich and vibrant community. Wendy Pedersen of the Carnegie Community Action Project says that if the city and the province don't act, all that will remain of Vancouver's historic centre will be a few plaques on the walls of high-end tourist hotels.
