In April 2011, Clayoquot Wilderness Resort was granted permission to build infrastructure for their own private use in one of Vancouver Island's oldest and most extensive provincial parks. The Friends of Strathcona Park is dedicated to preserving the park for all users. Carol Hunter is an organizer with the group.
