Understanding the B.C. tax system

| October 27, 2011

Show Notes:

Income taxes were first introduced in 1917 as a temporary measure to raise money to finance the First World War. Income tax is still with us almost 100 years later, along with sales tax, property taxes and carbon taxes. Seth Klein is the B.C. director of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. He discusses how the tax system is set up in British Columbia and how fair it is to taxpayers.
