New organization of Latin American states leaves out Canada and the U.S.

Last December, Caracas hosted the inaugural meeting of CELAC, a new organization that includes 33 countries in the Americas but notably excludes Canada and the United States. Mark Weisbrot is economist and co-director of the Washington-based Center for Economic and Policy Research.
