For a short period of time in the 1970s, the government of Manitoba gave the people of Dauphin a guaranteed annual income. The results were remarkable. Now this idea is being talked about again. Dr. Evelyn Forget is an economist and professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She is an expert on the Dauphin experiment and a proponent of a unified system of social assistance. Dr. Evelyn Forget speaks with Redeye host Jane Williams.
