CPR was given 6000 acres of land in 1886 if the company agreed to put the terminus of its national railway in Vancouver instead of nearby Port Moody. When they decided to sell the land, the city refused to re-zone it, sparking a battle that went to the Supreme Court of Canada.

(14:34 - 26:35)

Henri Robideau is well-known for his "gigantic" series of photos, detailing massive roadside icons and town statues across Canada. His latest exhibition highlights the gigantic rallies that have taken place in Vancouver's recent past. Laura Lamb reviews a show featuring Robideau's work and that of Svend-Erik Erikson.
