The first mention of what the government is calling "model schools" was in the throne speech in February. By March, the Vancouver School Board was being asked to rent out two empty buildings, one for autistic kids and one for aboriginal kids.
Parents are alarmed at what they see as segregation. Dawn Steele is the mother of a special needs boy. She says children like her son aren't being well-served by the regular school system, but separate schools aren't the answer. >> get more info
