Bringing torturers to justice in Canada

| October 23, 2007

Show Notes:

Refugee victims of torture in Canada sometimes face the prospect of living in the same community as torturers from their home country.

A court case taking place in Montreal may set a precedent that will allow the prosecution of torturers for crimes committed before they came to Canada.

Bruce Broomhall is a professor of law at the University of Quebec at Montreal. He is currently working with a student group monitoring the trial of Desiré Munyaneza on charges of involvement in the 1994 Rwandan genocide.  >> contact for more info
