| December 13, 2005

Show Notes:

(00:17 - 14:59)
Canadians are again talking about whether or not to vote strategically in the upcoming election. Dennis Pilon of Fair Vote Canada argues that a fairer, more representative voting system would eliminate the need for such difficult choices and would lead to more democratic and responsive government. And he says the only way to get things moving on electoral reform is if no one party gets a majority of seats.

(15:00 - 24:59)
A set of land use agreements have been negotiated for the Great Bear Rainforest of B.C. - an area five times the size of P.E.I. on the central and northern coast and the islands of Haida Gwaii. The agreements are the result of years of consultations, community meetings and scientific research. Now they are before the B.C. government. Amanda Carr of Greenpeace explains what's at stake.
