In the debate about what to do about climate change, the idea of carbon trading has been held up as a possible solution.

Carbon trading was enshrined in the Kyoto Protocol as a way to bring the U.S. on board. But researchers argue that it is among a number of climate change “fixes” that will not work, and is inherently unjust.

They say it leads to a commodification of the atmosphere and simply produces more profits for rich northern polluters. >> get more info
