Cathy Crowe has been a street nurse in Toronto for 17 years. She co-founded the Toronto Disaster Relief Committee, which declared homelessness a national disaster in 1998.

She wrote "Dying for a Home" in collaboration with 10 homeless activists, each of whom have a chapter in the book.
