The bones of hundreds of First Nations people were taken from village sites and burial grounds across North America to add to the collections of museums around the world. Now those remains are slowly being returned to their rightful place. Nika Collison is with the Haida Repatriation Committee. In this interview, recorded in July, she talks movingly about why it is important to the people of Haida Gwaii to bring their ancestors home.

Many public health officials argue that Canada needs to re-examine how it manages pyschoactive drugs, especially those that are illegal. The Health Officers Council is an organization representing Medical Health Officers in BC. In October, they produced a discussion paper on drug control and harm reduction in Canada. We speak with Dr.Richard Mathias, professor in the Department of Health Care and Epidemiology at UBC and a member of the Health Officers Council.
