Five years after the coup in Haiti

| March 4, 2009

Show Notes:

Five years ago on the last day of February 2004, the elected President of Haiti, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, was overthrown. Following the coup and forced exile of Aristide, a United Nations military force has been occupying and intervening in Haitian affairs.

Brian Concannon is a lawyer in Oregon and director of the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti. He says the intervention, led by Canada, France and the USA, has not benefited the people of Haiti.
