| November 23, 2005

Show Notes:

(00:17 - 12:06) Headlines Theatre and its director David Diamond are world-renowned for their work with forum theatre - a kind of interactive performance that aims to create social change by exploring solutions to community issues. Their most recent production is titled "Here and Now" - it looks at the pressures that lead to gang violence in the Indo-Canadian community. Laura Lamb went to see the play - she explains how forum theatre works, and what she thought of it.

(12:07 - 24:58) Environmental Defence got tired of waiting for the government to find out what chemicals Canadians are exposed to and decided to go ahead with the research themselves. They tested a group of 11 Canadians from across the country for toxic chemicals and found an average of 44 in each person. An interview with Sarah Winterton, program director with Environmental Defence and one of the 11 volunteers.
